| I have a 2004 Sport 6MT, fully loaded. (3 years so far) I feel like the performance is on par if not better than my Z32. Absolutely love the stock exhaust note also! Some of the downfalls in my experience: -Timing belt tensioner needs to be replaced. Came with a metal mounted plastic 'slide' that breaks loose and rattles on start up (I'm getting ready to replace mine) -If its a manual, the dual mass flywheel will wear out (may already be) and rattle. It also vibrates heavily on deceleration from freeway speed when in gear (you can feel it in the shifter). Replacing mine with Z1 lightweight kit. -It will rattle. If he hasn't addressed any prepare for it. The much quieter interior will make it more apparent. Rattles that I've addressed so far: Dash (most involved to fix), glove box, center console, door panels, seats (see below), rear side panels, headliner, mirror, package tray. -You will have an oil pool in the #5 (DS rear most) cylinder spark plug well, was an issue with the VC machining or something. Doesn't puddle enough to leak but it will be there when you change your spark plugs. Pulling the VC and putting some RTV on it is the fix. -Traction control is very active. Basically kills power when you break traction. Every time I get on it and shift to second I break the tires loose and it falls on its face. Easy enough to turn off but worth mentioning. -It has manual reclining handles for the seats. This really surprised me as the Z32 has electric recliners? Has electronic front/back up/down though. About the seats: Hard bumps will cause: DS seat bracket rattles sometimes, just needs to be tightened up. PS seat recliner handle will rattle like death and you will think something is falling apart. I haven't figured out how to fix this yet but I'm thinking it may be a weak spring inside the mechanism. PS seat belt will rattle against the pillar. There's no way to stop this, I move my seat around and put the lever up/down and it will rattle different ways in each position. The car will benefit from a front strut tower brace, It makes handling so much nicer. All that being said, its still my baby.
